Popconfirm

A small "Are you sure?" popup anchored to the button that asked for it.

c2-popconfirm asks for confirmation right next to the button that needs it: delete a row, revoke a key, discard a draft. Put the button in the trigger slot. Clicking it opens a popup with the question (heading, or the heading slot), an optional description in the default slot, and a Cancel / OK pair (cancel-label, confirm-label). Focus moves to Cancel, the least destructive choice. It looks like c2-tooltip rather than a dialog: a compact dark bubble with an arrow pointing at the trigger (--c2-popconfirm__arrow--size: 0px removes it). The popup is a non-modal alertdialog in the top layer, so no overflow: hidden ancestor clips it. It prefers placement (default top) and flips when there is no room.

Every opening ends in exactly one event. OK fires confirm. Cancel, Escape, a click outside and focus moving away fire cancel. confirm is cancelable: call preventDefault() to keep the popup open while the action runs, set pending to show OK as busy, then set open to false when it finishes. For a decision that needs more room, or one not tied to a button, use c2-confirm-dialog.
